In the heart of Alcala, every Sunday morning, you’ll find locals selling their wares.  Everything from books to toys, and jewellery through to fresh fruit and produce.

The main reason I visit most Sunday mornings personally is for the range of books they have on sale there.

There is one guy taht has a massive range of books to suit all tastes – and I invariably end up coming home each week with countless more books than I can actually fit in my bookcase.

However, there are many other stalls there too, including a stall from one of the foremost dog charities on Tenerife, K9.

If you’re planning to stop off for a coffee or a snack when you visit, be sure to come early, by about 11-12, most of the café’s are packed with people resting after browsing the stalls.

The Old Lodge, in Puerto Colon – with great views overlooking the beach, hosts Tenerife’s very own Soul night.  The beauty of the night is that visitors can bring their own CD’s (or even Vinyl) and the resident DJ will attempt to play the songs for you!

Guest DJ’s are also more than welcome.

In Tenerife itself, as the match ended, there were scenes of jubilation, with car horns, fireworks and much more going off all over the Island.

Jesse Garon, the renowned entertainer from Tenerife, will be performing on Saturday nights from the 20th June, at Los Tarajales.

Los Tarajales is a charming Restaurant in Tenerife, located directly on the beach front in Los Cristianos – on Paseo Maritimo, next to the Crazy Golf course.

The Restaurant itself is open for food and drinks – so if you fancy going along to see Jesse, but don’t want to eat, thats fine too.

The show itself starts at 8:30pm, and begins with relaxed Country numbers.  After a short break, the show continues at 9:30pm with Jesse speeding up the temp with Classic Rock and Roll songs.  On more break, then Jesse performs his famous Cash & King Tribute show – which has recieved rave reviews all over Tenerife.

The world of freestyle football is slowly expanding, and this is your chance to get in on the action!

Red Bull is a name known world wide for it’s sport sponsorships and, obviously, its own brand of energy drink.  However, it is also the organiser for last years hugely successful Street Style Freestyle Football competition.

This year, it returns, bigger and better than ever, and the fourth leg of the Spanish qualifiers is being held here in Tenerife, at the gorgeous Siam Park.

If you-re a budding freestyler footballer, you can register to participate in the qualifier or alternatively, you can come along on the day to view the action as it happens.

The winners of this heat will go through to the national finals in Valencia, and from there, if successful, they’ll progress eventually into the World Grand Finals, which are held in South Africa, in 2010.

Competition this year will prove to be very stiff, with 45 countries from around the world participating, and there will be an amazing array of skills on show, with only the best of the best reaching the final.

Frenchman Séan is the reigning world champion, after being crowned the winner of the last competition, via a star studded panel of judges, including the legendary footballer Edgar Davids, who commented:

I had never seen anything like this, Brazil truly is a land of football passion, so there was no better choice to host this first World Championship. And what we saw here tonight confirmed that.
