The final night of this years Fimucite is dedicated to Jerry Goldsmith and related works.  For part 1, Diego Navarro conducts the Tenerife Film Orchestra and Choir in paying homage to Alien movies.

Fimucite returns for it’s 3rd year running, and strives to prove that Tenerife is more than just a Holiday destination filled with Sun and Sand.

Fimucité itself is an International festival celebrating Cinema music.  With such famous composers as Joel McNeely (who has worked with such big names as George Lucas and James Cameron), Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, and many more, the entertainment is sure to be nothing short of spectacular.

The director of Fimucité 2009 comments:

With the experience of the previous 2 Editions and in spite of the crisis, Fimucité is back thanks to the support of our main sponsor, Cabildo de Tenerife (the island’s Government). If the first Edition was such an experience, the second one was beyond our expectations. These two years we have had the pleasure of bringing the best of film music’s magic and art to Tenerife. Tenerife is more than sea and sun, there is plenty to discover, and Fimucité proves it.

The Old Lodge, in Puerto Colon – with great views overlooking the beach, hosts Tenerife’s very own Soul night.  The beauty of the night is that visitors can bring their own CD’s (or even Vinyl) and the resident DJ will attempt to play the songs for you!

Guest DJ’s are also more than welcome.

The Heineken Jazz Festival in the Canary Islands has always been a big draw for music lovers, and this year is shaping up to be no different!

The Pretenders, one of the greatest British rock bands of the 80’s and 90’s, led by their founder and songwriter Chrissie Hynde, come to Santa Cruz Tenerife on the 6th July as part of a Worldwide tour.

June 20th – June 24th 2009 – Santa Cruz

Playa de Las Teristas hosts this festival, in Northern Tenerife, aimed at the younger generations.

Over the weekend at the start of the festival, extreme sporting activities will be available, such as Skateboarding, Paragliding,  Scuba Diving, Hiking and Climbing.

From Monday until Wednesday, the activities will attempt to make people more enviromentally aware, with more diverse diversions, including Seabed Cleaning, and releasing Turtles into the wild.

Finally, the festival rounds off with a bang by dedicating the last night to music, with rock and reggae concerts and much more!
