Patti Smith – Written Portrait

Patti Smith, one of the most renowned musical artists of the 1970’s, who’s mix of poetry and rock music made her an influental force in the rock and punk scene.

With over ten albums, you would be forgiven for thinking that Patti has excelled at her carerr, however, she has also built a name for herself within the fields of poetry and art.  With a large collection of works having been displayed in museums and galleries around the world, there is plenty of artistic influence on show.

The exhibition in Tenerife itself is being held at the TEA Art Centre, and begins with paintings and portraits from the mid 1960’s.

The display also encompasses many photographs, all taken via a Polaroid camera, and all in Black and White.  There is also a section devoted to the events of September 11th, with heart wrenching drawings from the artist herself.

This event runs from May 22nd to September 6th, however, it is not open on Mondays.
